Our new website makes the process of bidding online, either on PC or phone, relatively straightforward. Short of being in the room, this is the most effective bidding technique, create an account here and register as a bidder for the next auction.
From there, you have 2 options;
1) bid live during the auction, we will start at Lot 1 and work our way through accepting bids live from floor, internet and telephone bidders. Obviously, bidding live over the internet does carry the risk of connectivity drops which could result in bids not being presented or being presented late.
2) leave bids on the website prior to the auction, these are presented to us in increments during each Lot until either your bid is successful or the bidding exceeds your maximum bid for that Lot. This method is more reliable as bids are registered and logged onto our auction platform and do not depend on a 'live' connection.
Online bids can also be placed prior to, and during, the auction via Invaluable.com and the Invaluable.com app - available for both Android & iOS - find 5th Avenue Auctioneers under 'Auction Houses' and the current auction will be at the top. This is just the same auction on a second platform.
Alternatively, we can call you to allow you to bid as if in the room, just via telephone. To register a telephone bid, send an email to [email protected] with a telephone number you can be reached at on the day of the auction, and a list of the Lot numbers you would like to bid on. These will be facilitated on a first come, first served basis.
Lastly, if you would rather not register on a digital platform nor receive a phone call on a Sunday, you can register 'commission' bids by sending an email to [email protected] listing the Lot numbers you would like to bid on and the maximum hammer price (remember there will be Buyers Premium added to your final bid for the final purchase price) you would like to bid for each Lot.

Post Auction
You will be able to collect paid for goods between 9am & 5pm, Monday to Friday from our auction rooms – 404 Jan Smuts Avenue, Craighall Park. We are happy to deliver within Gauteng, we charge R400 a load. For further afield, we will arrange courier delivery at your cost.
